Hi just out of interest, are there any betta shows/comps in the UK???
Just cos ive seen that there are some in the US so maybe some over here...?

Not any betta specific ones AFAIK, however there are some fish shows occasionally, so you'd have to look into those.

We are trying to get the uk chapter of IBC up and running at the moment, when this is done hopefully we will be able to start having betta shows in the UK

i was thinking as there are no really any ibc judges over here why dont we just all meet up at someones house or something and like just compare bettas etc and it will porbably just evolve from that

we have judges already lined up willing to travel to the uk when everything is sorted

Would be wonderful if it can be organised. Should give the fish keeping community a big boost too and hopefully help the care of fish and knowledge raise ever higher. Am I hoping for too much?

No Miss Dib Dabs... thats what my company BWBettas is about, to raise awareness of different species of betta splendens in the UK... Thats why my fish are so ridiculously low priced...

no bret your company isnt about that your company is about making money on your website there is not 1 singe piece on infomation on cariing for bettas or breeding bettas or betta welfare

Most of the breeders in the UK breed bettas because they like to see what colours and shapes they can make and also to make more and more quality bettas available in the UK instead of just the pet shop VT's. Unfortunately as Smurfy said that website is to make money

betta shows in the UK would be fantastic.
I could go along and talk to peeps who know about bettas and dont get bored when I go into raptures about them, and we could stay over in a hotel and still talk about bettas. sorry got carried away!
