i thought this looked kinda strange but since this was my first spawn i'm not sure what fry are supposed to look like at 3weeks. Is it stomach just developing or is it a problem balloon defect or something?
there are a couple that look like this and they are the biggest.
Maybe i'm over feeding?

Wow! I've never seen anything like that...fo course, I haven't started breeding the bettas yet so....
I can't say. I think you shouldn't be too worried. Are all of them like that? or just one? If just one, then I bet you can guess its something wrong, but its more likely to be normal if all of them are like that.
I dunno, I'm just guestimating.

I would imagine something is wrong with the fish. I would move them to a seperate tank and watch the others.

i just went down to take a closer look at everyone and actually they all have it except for the 2 very small ones, at varying degrees - that one in the pic is definately the biggest, which would lead me to believe the 2 little ones just haven't developed enough yet.
I just don't think i've seen any pics of fry like this...keep the input coming guys...i'm still undecided if there's something wrong.

There could be something wrong...
OR, you could've developed a form of "Balloon-Bellied Bettas" :dunno: ...

I've seen this before *if* it's what I think I'm looking at...
Is there like a clear liquid 'bubble' (of sorts) where there didn't used to be one? I've had it show up in a couple fry, who later developed slight swim bladder problems, but they quickly recovered. It seems to be some sort of water retention. Are you using salt?

That could have something to do with it, start rinsing it. I rinse with tap water and they don't die or anything. Brine shrimp are amazingly tough -_-

Otherwise I don't think it's anything to worry about unless they all start floating on their sides. What else do they eat besides brine?

microworms and 2 days ago i mulched up a couple bloodworms to see if they would eat it since they're getting quite big...not a bite

how do you rinse the bbs without losing them all? I'm using the smallest bbs net and i still lost most of them. I stopped rinsing but definately will start doing again....I don't want anything to happen to my babies!

hah hah, they can be that way sometimes! Do you need a grindal culture? It takes like a week for them to make it to Canada but I could ship one your way along with a springtail culture.

Also, you might have better luck with frozen brine. Try swirling it around too.

ETA~ I use a coffee filter.

It's only like 2.00 to ship them, I don't charge anything for the cultures themselves though. I'll PM ya.

Try the coffee filters ^ You can get like 5,000 of them for a dollar.
