Should I get fire red or painted fire red shrimp?

I’m starting my first shrimp tank in a few weeks and I don’t know which to choose from. The fire reds are $33 for 12 and the painted fire reds are 11 for $50. Is the price worth it? Are the painted fire and regular fire red that much different?

I can't tell you about care, since I have never owned shrimp, but the two species really don't look much different. If I were you, I would go for the fire reds. It's your decision though.

Both are cherry shrimps, Neocaridina davidii, so the care is the same. They are just different grades with the painted ones being redder and therefore more expensive.
