In a relativly new setup i have 14 neons, when i first got them they were pretty good at shoaling but now they seam a lot more scattered, is this normal? is there any way to get them shoaling again?

There in with 2 mollies, 4 swordtails and 4 zebra dinos.

Yes it's perfectly normal. It means they've settled in and aren't feeling scared

The only way to get them shoaling would be to frighten them - which wouldn't be nice

just in case they school and not shoal i'll put the definitions. this may also help new people to the fish world too

shoaling - an unorginized group of fish.

schooling - an organized group of fish that swim and move in sync.

Beat me too it! :good:
The fact they have spread-out means they are feeling more confident in your tank. 14 Neons is a good shoal number to have though! :good:

Ahhh good stuff, all sounds well then, you learn something everyday what with the shoaling and the schooling, thanks for that.
Cheers
