How do you sex jewel cichlids?

The females usually have more of a rounded fin, and they have deeper stomachs. They look more "full-bodied" because they are holding eggs in their abdomen.

Do you have any pictures? I'm looking at 7 right now and not sure.

I think it would be easier if you just posted pictures of yours. Then I could give my best guesstimate on their sex.

Alright, I learned how to vent and sexed 5 out of the 7 fish. At what size do they mature because I am not sure if the 1-1/2 inch ones are male or non matured females.

They should be about mature at that age.
