sex of my Chocolate Cichlid

Hey everyone I’m 95% sure my chocolate is a male but just want some clarification on the smaller one. I got them for free from a breeder when I bought the tank and they were in horrible conditions and I wish I could’ve taken more but I brought them back from brink of death to now rough 2 and a half years later. And sadly the smaller one hasn’t really grown at all

i think they both are males beacuse of the fin shape
idk i never had chiclids before
the smaller one may just be a stunted male... his colors and growth will come i think
his final size may be below average

Still think it’s a boy the head is squaring off and the fin extensions are getting longer. Stunning fish tanks looking good too!

I still think male With that big dorsal fin past the tail fin would be really surprised if it was female at this stage.

I've had female cichlids do this too my Severum and Nicaraguan both did it pretty extensively.
