Hi
My Golden severum is in distress he is two inches long and I have had him for about two months and he has been doing well, he was in my 4ft tank with two firemouths and a blue acara with no territory or bully isues.
Unfortunatley the acara got white spot (none of the others did) and I have been treating the tank with a king british remedy as per instructions.
The white spot has now cleared up and all the fish are fine except the sev who is breathing really heavy and has stopped eating, I have checked him for spots, slime, red gills etc but nothing apparent.
he is starting to go pale and has become lethargic just floating around with no direction,I moved him to a different tank yesterday so I can treat him seperately I checked all the water stats on the tank he came from and they were perfect ( 0. 0. 0. ) any ideas what it may be so I can sort some meds out,
could he be sensitve to the whitespot treatment? I really fear for him he is looking worse every day please help if you can.

Sadly he not sounding good, has the whitespot cleared up on him, have you increased aeration.

Aeration is all I can think of man. Maybe some stress coat or melafix to make him feel better. Good luck!

Thanks for the replys guys
The sev never showed any signs of white spot and seemed quite happy as I said it was only the Acara who showed any spots (he is fine now) although some others showed a bit of filicking but I medicated and upped the temp as per instructions and it seems all are now normal.
I have moved him to a mature tank wih good stats and areation and keepimg an Eye on on him he, is still not well but is hangin in there I dont want to medicate him again as It may be the cause of his shock but I am keeping my fingers crossed as I love that little guy.

I think the meds will just finish him off faster, bless him, good luck.

Great new my sev has pulled through :D he's back to normal he was at deaths door just led on his side breathing heavy, never ate for five days but he must a tough little guy as after his period of fasting he started swimming again and slowly started eating just a tiny odd flake at first but then he got his appetite back and now eats like a cichilid should, he looks great now and back to his old self. ( sigh of relief ).
Thanks for all the concern and support.
Alby
