I think "leaf melt" may be what's going on with my plants! I've never heard that term before, so thank you!

NP about the new thread; I figured when the plants start looking better and the tank is cleaner I'll do that. I was also thinking of posting about foods, but I found several others had already asked the questions I wanted to ask, so I'm reading and making notes!

Several of the plants with what may be leaf melt had really good root systems. Another showing issues is one that grows roots really fast, so I'm not giving up yet!
 
Many refer to it as simply melt but I call it leaf melt because that is what usually melts and you are left with a stem which hopefully grows new leaves. Like fish, plants need to adjust to new water conditions. I have both hard water and soft water tanks and some plants do great in one but when you transfer them to the other it is a disaster .
