OMG following on from another thread, I have just seen the most adorable little fish ever!
Ive got a huge vase, about 10L, could I keep a few in there, with some shrimp?
Im going to use a sand substrate with moss balls and a bit of bogwood.
2 X 50% water changes a week, no filter/heater.

Can I, please??!!!

I wouldnt keep them in an unfiltered tank they are sometimes fragile 10 liters is quite small even for them, you can get some small 20 liter tanks now quite easily often advertised as just shrimp or pico tanks. They usually work best in trios and some shrimp would be fine with them :)

I imagine you are thinking of the scarlet badis but the badis group is such a varied undiscovered group of fish there are some utterly amazing fish in there, not so common in the UK and Europe but quite common in Asia so wouldnt be imposible to track down. Just to give you an idea of the variety have a look at this http://www.seriouslyfish.com/kb.php?t=ps&s=badis

This is my fav :) http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.php?genus=Dario&species=sp.+%27Myanmar%27&id=1338 one day I want to do a 25/30g tank of tiny tiny fish and badis would be one of the fish in there :)
