I have recently changed from gravel to sand, and appearance wise it's lovely....but...is it me or does this show every single bit of poo all the time? I guess when the fish poo (and we know platys can poo for England) and you have gravel it can fall between the stones and you don't notice it, but now it's there to annoyingly see !!! Any advice or do I just keep clearing it up daily?

I suppose that is one of the down sides when using a light sand, I also have a lot of bog wood in one of my tanks & the plecs rasp on that which leaves bits around the sand, I vac weekly with my water changes

It is a problem with light coloured sands, yes!

You either clean it up daily, or learn to live with it; it doesn't affect your water quality, so that's a plus! Plecs (I have a gibbi

) and shrimps (their poo is really dark, so it shows up a lot!) are the worst for messing up your sand!

lol and digging into it, my plec likes to hide under his courgette (zucchini)

I find the current in my tank pushes most of the poo somewhere discreet and I just vac around once a week with the water change.
