I`m planning on setting my betta tank up as a nano planted....
however it is currently over run by snails. So i was planning on stripping the tank (the betta can live in a filtered, heated bucket for the day) and starting over. and as i have a marine tank i`d doing LOTS of water changes in, could i use the old water to barth my plants in to get rid of snails??? if so for how long before the salt also kills the plants???
the other option i was thinking of was a bucket with lots of off cuts of copper pipe from work and sit the plants in that over night the copper should leach into the watter and kill the snails...

O(bviously the plants will be given a good rinse before being added to the tank

I think it'd depend how long you'd need to leave the plants in the salt water for. I dont know if any plants will be able to live in marine water for some time.
This might help, it depends on what plants you have

Also, be careful of the dead snails staying on the plants. I'd wash them under the tap to make sure they're all knocked off.

What about cucumber?
