My Sagittaria came from last trading post today, very healthy looking and very long! I was picturing it to be a short leaf plant, 4 inches max, but this stuff is nearly 12 inches! Thats going to make it a little difficult finding a home in my tank. I know this stuff can be grown out of water, is there a chance this is how its got so tall and i should expect a degree of melt and smaller leaves to appear?

I was going to order some... Might not now. Lol. I too was expecting something smaller.

Have a read here.

Seems dwarf sag is a very variable plant height-wise regardless of immersed/emersed form.

I was fortunate enough to be sent the 4-6" height range, but how long it will stay that way is anyone's guess

I don't really know what to suggest other than planting it somewhere in the midground and waiting to see what happens. :/ If it melts and the new growth is small, you could move it forward to where you originally wanted it. If it doesn't, but sends out runners with new small growth, you could move those forward instead and ditch the tall stuff, maybe.

Yeah i think its probably a good idea, i've decided that im going to rip out half my vallis later, move some wood back a little and then plant the Sag along the front to mid areas of the tank and leave it to get on with things. :D
