I have an issue with my Valentini puffer. I have a 45 gallon tank with 2 clownfish and for months everyone was great and we called the puffer “the sheriff” because he freely enjoyed the whole tank and would eat easily and interact with us.

About 10 day ago I added a dragon goby/sleeper banded goby and now my puffer doesn’t want to eat and won’t interact. He lodges himself into the rock and avoid us even during feeding.

The goby mostly keeps to himself but has taken on a little more of the sheriff role.
How can I help the puffer adjust?

make sure the water quality is ok.

post a few pics of the fish so we can make sure the new fish didn't introduce any diseases.

offer them some live brineshrimp and hope he gets over losing his spot as top dog.
