I have two RTS's, one is very black, the other is a little paler, and a little smaller.

The very black RTS is one of my original fish and I have had him since April 2006, he eats a varied diet of flake and frozen food (bloodworms and daphnia). He has always been a little fiesty, particularly with the other RTS, but has calmed down a lot recently and gets on very well with my two large clown loaches.

Yesterday, however, he was getting very frisky with the other RTS and last night I noticed that he has several noticeable patches of 'grey' on his body, almost like his scales have lifted slightly. I will check him again when I go home tonight, but has anybody had any experience of this?

He is a real character and am very concerned about him!

Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Oh, the tank size is 76 gallons, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate are all okay. The tank has a 20% water change each week and the gravel is vacuumed every few days (thanks to my plec!!).

When you check on him again try to see if the scales are actually lifting or if there is maybe a film or something else over them. If it is the scales lifting you should be able to tell fairly easily.
Do you have another tank you can isolate him in? (just in case)
Also look very closely and see if you can tell if there are any wounds. They will sometimes get bacterial infections from even small wounds.

RTS are very teratorial and under 6ft you should not have 2 to a tank.

The alpha fish is the dark one, and the other fish will alway be stressed and chassed. Dark marks are a sign of stress.

Personaly i would find a nother tanbk or a friend who would take the other shark, it's better to 2 happy sharks then 1 stressed
