Hello all,

I have this plant that appears to be rotting (the one with thin leaves, some sort of vallisneria), can anyone please help?

So far, it is the only plant in my tank that seems to be rotting.

Water temperature = 23 degrees Celsius, 3 gallon, no stock so far, filtered + heat with no CO2.

Thanks in advance.

A picture of the tank overall:

Just set it up four days ago kinda as a reward for surviving the school's finals week (+ some extra money for new year)

The substrate is half-gravel and half-soil; soil went in first and I covered it with gravel because I ran out of soil.

It might be regular plant melt, the old leaves coming off so the new ones adjusted to your light and water can come in.
yep
plants from most lfs are weak and mass produced or emerse grown
they will recover with strong leaves as long as the root ball is there

it's vallis, they either do well or fall apart. that one is dying or dead.

it happens if the plant gets too hot during transport or if there is a sudden change in water chemistry (GH, KH & pH), or a sudden change in water temperature.

remove the soft mushy leaves and hope for the best. it might grow back but doesn't usually.
