Rotting Fin

Hi,

One of my Black Ruby barbs fin's is rotting. This fish actually had it's tail bitten right off by a tiger barb awhile ago. I treated it with Melafix, and after two bottles the fin was looking good. So, I stopped. Now the fin is brownish and rotting off. Do I treat it with Melafix again? Thanks.

Try using some melafix.

sounds like it wasnt healled/killed the bacteria off properly,
have you got a med tank? because you can keep the no2 levels as low as poss so there is less harmfull bacteria?

No, unfortuneately I do not. I will just keep using this medicine.

hmm sounds like the best plan then, if i were you id do as much cleaning etc as possible but i am only a beginner

also ive heard that you can use activated carbon to help but im not sure if is effect etc
