I bought a 10 pack of SeaChem Flourish tabs when I was setting up my low tech tank, I used 5 of them because I only plan on doing most of my rooted plants around the back and edges.  The tabs themselves came in a small bag inside the bag which I have reclosed for now because I have no idea what happens if they get too much air.

It says they last 3-4 months or so, do they dissolve over time or in 3 months will I have to dig them out when I put the new ones in?  Also when my current liquid ferts run out I'll be buying SeaChem Flourish because its more concentrated then what I'm using right now but I see alot of people also talk about using Fourish Excel.  I dont want to mess with Co2 canisters and whatnot is this a decent replacement for adding co2 to the tank?  I have no idea how it works in liquid form but I know alot of people rave about using Flourish with Flourish Excel

It works like a CO2 alternative but if you are going this route then you'll need ferts with N&P to use with it.

Nitrogen and Potassium?  Doesnt the liquid flourish have it?

Its mostly Trace elements and Potassium - It has a super tiny amount of Nitrate and Phosphate in it - Analysis

Flourish Nitrogen and Flourish Phosphorous qill supply the others stuff.

Edit - K is potassium.

Since my tank is low tech, will just Flourish and Flourish Excel work?  Flourish is already concentrated well, 5ml per 60gallons compared to my current fert of 5ml per 20 gallons

Excel is a Carbon source - so you're more high tech than low.

IMO

Edit: Try not to equate the dose with concentration (if you do know the concentration then ignore that)

Ah I dont know much about it, the plants wont arrive until at least Wednesday and it'll take time for them to get used to my water, prob melt a little and whatnot before I see how good my current ferts are for them
