Just sorting through a few rounded pebbles to scatter in bottom of as yet dry Uncycled tank before plants arrive.
Weā€™ve no vinegar in the house but thereā€™s an unopened free bottle of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar that Mrs Lurch says weā€™ll never use. Would that do the trick? Anyone know?

Itā€™s vinegar made from apples instead of wine apparently. Iā€™ve no idea if OACV (as Iā€™ve been calling it for ten seconds) is a worldwide thing or just British nonsense, in fact Iā€™d never heard of it until an hour ago.
If itā€™s not worldwide then @essjay or @seangee or AN Other-Brit may know the answer? If they donā€™t Iā€™ll buy some white vinegar tonight and try both on the pebbles. Hopefully this question wont then be keeping you all awake tonight.
So, organic apple cider vinegar then......?

Should work. Make sure you rinse it thoroughly though. The fizzing is just the standard reaction when an acidic substance reacts with a basic one - lemon juice will do the same thing.

Since you have it you may as well use it. Its nice on salads :)

Cheers Sean. Ill do my stone testing tomorrow.

I canā€™t tolerate anything too fizzy, citrus, acidic etc now. Old age. Lager excepted of course.
