I was mowing the lawn today and passed the AC. Then I saw a dragonfly. And we have tons of dragonflies. But in recent years and weeks I've noticed a large (quite literally) difference. They have been getting larger. The one on the AC was about 5-6 inches!! Now back in the Carboniferous period there was a giant dragonfly looking creature called Meganeura that was part of a closely related member of the dragonfly family called griffinflies. Keep in mind this was 299 million years ago or more. The wingspan was 2 and half feet and when stood up on its tail, it was as high as a tall man's waist.
But this isn't the beast I meant, as giant as that is. I'm talking about something called the Titanoboa that lived in the Paleocene Epoch period about 80 million years ago.
This thing was a beast at about 50ft long. And you want to know the supposed cause of extinction? Climate DROP.
Some scientists believe that due to rising temps snakes and other animals may start growing larger.
Could the anaconda become the next titanoboa?
Hopefully not, but it would be very interesting. It's almost like Jurassic World, except it's not on the screen

More afraid of the smaller ones who appear die to rising temps. But they are awesome aren't they.

Yah... That's true as well. But this could change bio-diversity a ton. Bigger predators.

I just don’t agree with doing things like bringing animals back , I’m going to say two words .
Jurassic park

Didn’t end well ahah
Yah... It's bad but really cool as well. Imagine if we use it for the good. Like species WE made go extinct, we can bring back...
But us greedy humans most likely will use it for the bad. Like doing Jurassic Park. But luckily I'm pretty sure it's impossible to clone a dinosaur. Their long gone.
But a mammoth would be cool!

My only issue really is we’re going to bring an animal back but not fully because we would hve to use a current elephants to host the baby then we’re going to put it in a zoo so stupid ape humans can go wow a hairy elephant

Bringing animals back from extinction has been tried before.....and it worked for one animal - the Tarpan, a wild horse that still exists now in specific areas of Poland

The issue is who started these experiments....Herman Goering

I agree but nazi science was well ahead of the time , nazis put man in space really , all those scientists that the Soviet’s took knew what they were on about to be fair , i read that the highest population of twins in earth is from a town in Brazil where a nazi scientist fled after ww2 funny enough he specialised in twins .. no coincidence
As bad as they we’re ethically
They excelled in science

Goering wanted to bring back the then extinct "old" breeds, mainly for him and his chums to hunt in his massive forests that he "owned".

I agree in that they were very forward in science...but also in technology and construction too

In relation to the twins of Candido Godoi...there is some argument as to whether Mengele was responsible or whether it was a fluke of nature...but it is certainly a heavy coincidence.

Trying to get the old, pure breeds that had not been seen for hundreds and thousands of years must have been fascinating work by Goering, Lutz and others....the Tarpan came back from the dead, I do wonder just how many other animals almost made it back during their experimental work that we still do not know about.
