Managed to get it set up and done earlier than we predicted:

Excuse crap pics, but my camera is hopeless, in reality the tank is well lit

No new residents yet, plecs moved in tonight - but I have some red tail zebra loaches, and polkadots, coming on Friday. All I need to do then is choose mid/high level fish (if any), and another plec (or two - depending on adult size as I'd rather keep it understocked), but I dont want to rush it - so that'll be in a couple of weeks.

Yep - it is deceiving, for some reason it looks bigger in photos (like it did on Ebay LOL). Yep, an Ebay "bargain" - £35 I think. Been soaking in my bath for a couple of weeks!

ohhhhhhhh is that one of the 2 pieces that was up there a few months back now? well probably a few weeks i have no concept of time lol.

if it is then damn you lol.

i got them put on there after someone on here told me he (snapper-aquatics) had them laying around.

lost out on the other one by about 50p cos i got back late and didnt get a chance to bid properly. doh!

That was it :)

I tell you though, the amount of times we've tried to bid on some and got pipped to the post (and usually by someone who's buying ALL the bogwood listed *lmao*)....I was relieved to get that bit, because I like the shape of it - looks a bit like a dog's head. 'Course, what one of those would be doing in a fish tank, I dont know...

thats alrite then, different piece :p lol

u were bidding on the one i saw tho cos you have the same username dont ya?

its a right pain to get hold off. shop in skipton said he might be able to get some.

splash aquatics if youve been there?

It was probably Mick doing the bidding. Swine cost me a fortune on there a couple of weeks back, this that and the flipping other. Pah, men, more trouble than they're worth... :hey:

Edited to add - nope, not been to Skipton in ages - not even for fish. Kathy's planning on dragging me out to Leeds to go to the FS there - there's one who's always got a decent selection of plecs in. Trouble is, I'll spend too much and never be allowed to go again ;)

lol im sure ill be disowned soon for spending money on fish.

atleast your partner likes fish! well saying that she doesnt hate them. or she didnt till i filled my room with them.

edited to add - im ignoring the men comment. :p

just curious... did you keep the origional juwel lights in the tank? ...

No idea if they're original, one's orange, one's white (listen to me with my technological terms!) - new though I think (hubby's the one who arranged it all with the original owner and set it up, and he's currently out on the town so cant ask). Bought the Juwel reflectors for it today, they are on (in that pic too).

Both my Juwels have been second hand (I say both, I only have this one now), my Vision 180 came with one blue and one white. So it depends what the originals actually are

Sam - hubby likes fish too much ;) He says I witter on about my land snails, but that's nothing like he does about fish, plants and carbon dioxide.

Hey Lisa :D

Looks great, very nice set up! Can't quite see the dog's head in the bogwood though? LOL!

very nice

sam much as i hate to recommend this place, best I've found for big ncie bits of bogwood is the living death :/

Thanks :)

I've had to take out some of the plants, as they didn't enjoy the move from one tank to the other - and started rotting. Luckily it was the ones I didn't like anyway :hey:

Theme has now changed. My rusty is making tonnes of mess in there, and may be moved back to the 6ft. And I wont be buying any more little plecs until I know how things go in there when my other two are bigger.

So instead it's going to be my community tank. I might get a pair of Bol. Rams, and some tetras of some description. Something snazzy.

I might, just might, get another little plec (as in bristlenose size or smaller) for in there in the future, but no more wood eaters or bigger types.

Or I might just give it a bit longer to mature, then rip out the Juwel filter and replace with a decent external. I've already had to add another internal, and it's only been occupied for a few days

looks like a gr8 tank there. I nearly got one myself, but then decided against due to my SAP (stuborn ass parents) lol.
