Hi
I am planning to set up a SW aquarium- 46bowfront...I am going to do a fish only with live rock....(I don't want to mess with corals yet)...during my research of various equipment, I've come across a Skilter- filter/protein skimmer....how efficient are these (for a tank my size) and would I have to run another filter in addition to a Skilter...any info would be greatly appreciated.....
TIA...
Ericka

There are folks on RC who literally laugh at Skilters. I think for your size tank you'd do better with a Turboflotor or something along those lines, if you don't have the money to spend on a high-powered skimmer like an ETSS or something.
