I rescaped my tank last weekend and bought some of those plants of the auction site, not sure what they all are but will see what works with my setup and progress from there. I also took of the Juwel 3d background off as it was not in a good state when I bought the tank so pleased I got rid of that, Not sure what colour background to have, Blue or Black, ideas please? heres a video of my tank and fish yesterday. Comments are welcomed and any ideas on how to improve it or remove anything.

thanks

looks nice.

I'd go with black - will help the fish stand out more. Blue will look a bit unnatural as well, more suited for marine tanks.

i hate to be the barer of bad new Dan, but a lot of those plants are not aquatic plants. Take a pic and up load it and i'll circle the non aquatics for you.

ok will get me camera charged and upload some pics of each plant. I have not left the seller feedback yet so I will see what he has to say for himself, dont like leaving negatives on ebay but if it turns out that quite a few are not for the aquarium I want a full refund. he sells loads on ebay, whats that old saying "when you think a deal is too good to be true, it probably is :shout: "

I only ordered them so I could get some stuff in the tank, as it looked pretty bare when I cleaned it out last weekend, plants only came tuesday. oh well live and learn as they say, will sort pics out for later. Thanks

ok cant find me rechargable AA's so used me camera phone til later to take a picture of a few plants. I have numbered and resized the pictures, hopefully they will give you all a little idea of what I got. thanks in advance for any help.

plant number one is from a cutting from a plant I had previously in the aquarium that always seemed to do well.

See the nicely potted plant to the right of the basil? That was sold as an aquatic plant at Petco! They aren't and will soon start rotting in your tank. You have several of these. It's a dracaena.

EDIT: Specifically, Dracaena reflexa 'Song of India'

I love your tank and your fish! Very nice!

I wish I could get keyhole ciclids, Bolivian rams and rummynose tetras. None of the stores around here carry them.

I was starting to like my tank til I found out a few of my plants are not aquatic but sold to me as aquatic. But I love my fish, the Keyholes are wonderful fish, at first they were very shy with me but now come right up to the front of the tank when im close to it, another of my favourites is the Apistogramma Borelli, thats the little one with the blue dots around the front of his body.

7 and 9 are the dracaenas, and not aquatic.

I got sent three of them, so what was an outstanding deal is turning out really not to be. Think I will shop local from now, theres a shop near me called living waters, think I will go there.

Lots and lots of dracaenas are sold as aquatic plants. I can't figure it out! They are very pretty in the water, but I still don't get it.

I'll probably continue to get my plants at Petco. They come in little tubes with no chance of any hitchhikers and the prices are good. They're also quite healthy.

hey Dan as, already been ID'd 4,7,9 are the non aquatics. The reason they are sold with aquatic plants is because they do well in ripariums and terrariums.

ok thanks everyone, will remove them plants, have emailed the seller earlier but no repsonse yet. Any id on the other plants in the pictures?

not 100% but 1 looks like Hygrophila polysperma Rosanervis, 2 looks like Alternanthera reineckii, 3 is Vallis, 4 , i can't remember the terrestrial name, 5 Eloda densa, 6, Cabomba, 8 not 100% again but looks like Anubias barteri var. barteri.
