I'm gonna replace my dwarf  Can you guys recommend what I could get so I don't make yet another mistake? What about a sparkling gourami or something? I have a 10 gal with 4 corys, 3 platys and a molly. Also this fish needs to be happy alone or maybe with two max, they need to be small until I upgrade. Don't think I'm cold-hearted and as soon as my dwarf gets sick I'm replacing him. My daughter will be heartbroken so when we go to buy another one I don't want another mistake. :good: Once again, thanks guys. Where would I be without this site?!

Yes, start by acclimatising for water differences, not only temperature. Search for "drip acclimatisation", for example, that should give you some good results.

Sparkling gouramis do best in groups of 6+, in my personal experience. Your best option would be to get at least 2 more Corys of the same species as you already have because Corys are schooling fish.

Thanks again Kittykat for yet more sound advice! I'll wait a while to add another fish or two. Feeling a bit sad at the mo!I haven't heard of drip acclimatisation. I'll look it up. :good:
