After a few years and a few tanks under my belt, I believe I can run a very healthy planted tank with few problems now :)

But I have one more problem that I need to deal with. I currently have a planted tank with 6 barbs and a Chinese algae eater. I need to get rid of the Chinese Algae Eater, but I don't know if stores regularly take fish off of people. I bought him from a tropical fish store (before researching algae eaters XD) but I would rather give him up to a store like PetsMart because it is much closer.

Anybody know their policy regarding fish taking? Or general policies of regular shops. I'd rather not kill him, but it might come to that if what I'm reading is true.

P.S. he is about 1.5 inches right now, I have a 20 gallon aquarium.

Put a topic in the Classified section here if a shop won't take him. Another option is local clubs. Many have contacts for people who will pick up fish who need a home, or local auctions.

If that all fails - try local doctors surgeries and dentists. In my experience they always have aquariums that and algae eater would be comfortable in.
