Anyway, one of those plants I got (indicated in "spongy stuff?) is Red Wendt or Red Wendth ... something like that.

It is growing like nuts! I'd say it is already (less than one week) 25% bigger and has double the number of shoots compared to when I bought it.

I removed spongy stuff and put some pebbles into the pot, put in the plant, filled with pebbles, and on the top plopped a Flourish Tab (why it is called a tab I don't understand -- looks like a pebble-sized piece of coal). Put in a squirt of Flourish into the tank.

That's it. I'm gonna have to trim it soon if this keeps up! 8)

Anyway, this is a hardy plant, clearly doesn't have special light or temp needs (mine is med. light and 76 deg). So if anyone is looking for a good easy plant, this could be your answer!

It's a red wendtii. A type of Crypt which I think are some of the easiest plants to grow. They make up a majority of my plants in my tanks, those and the green variety. I love them. Rose

I've got a couple of unidentified plants (ones a type of apono...gon - can't remember the middle bit ;) )We could have a Challenge Rose spot :D

Wedntii. That's the one. What the heck kind of name is that? :look:

Tatya it's a Apponogeton. Those are a bulb type plant and most of them will grow larger than most tanks are tall. They are a real nice plant species.

If you wanna Challange me that's fine. However I have a feeling I'll loose. :D But hey I've never been one to turn away from a challange. Rose 8)

Whats this then rose

Even I know that: it's a red plant!

Well, except for the fish. Those aren't red plants. But the red plant is! :D

The results are in.  Davy and I found it and are pleased to announce it's a Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia.

Davy's looks a different color because he dosent have all the requirements this plant needs. He has all just not to the degree that this plant would look it's best in. Rose (and Davy)

Wellll....????? What does it need?  What does it lack?

By the way, also called Red Temple (http://www.aquabotanic.com/4saleplant.htm)

I almost bought it but then this guy didn't ship a week after charging my card so I cancelled. He's a bit of an oddball. But good site for plant browsing then looking elsewhere to buy! 8)

I just want to know what type though :D it keeps on flowering (above the water) and then seeds everywhere - its almost as bad as guppies (only nothing could be that bad - nope not even rabbits ;) )

That my dear describes ever Appon species for the aquarium that's known. If you want a species you need to give me a whole lot more to go on. Even then I'm not too sure I can get the "one" specie it is. I might be able to narrow it down to 8 or so. That's about it. Rose
