From what I've read, it seems that red nose shrimps and amanos should co-exist peacefully. Has anyone got any experience of this?
Thank you for any thoughts

Peoples experiences with amano shrimp seems to differ, mine wouldn't even eat live food or <1cm triops but some people report them killing cherry shrimp, and they do eat live bloodworm sometimes (mine didn't).

However, I would say that you should be alright. At my work we sell them from the same tank and they are peaceful towards each other.
In my experience at least, amanos are usually peaceful.

My amanos are really quite placid. Actually, I was planning on buying some crystal reds to keep with them.
They do eat daphnia magna though. Maybe best not to keep them with anything too small, just in case.

'fraid I know nothing about red nose shrimp though...

All I know about red nose shrimp is that they are very sensitive, and when we get them in (by accident I think) most of them turn a milky colour and die.
They also seem to swim a lot more than other shrimp, and they wont eat fish as small as endler fry :good: .

Thanks! I have some amano already, and love them. Then I saw some red-noses in the lfs.... ...so cute and endearing....and managed to restrain myself from buying any until I'd researched them a little.

But now I feel more shrimp coming on... :hey: :hey:
