Just got what I thought was a pair of red honey gouramis and looking at websites now not entirely sure one of them is a gourami! One is standard looking with red ish colouring the other is virtually White with red tinged fins annd nose but doesn't seem to have the tassley stringy bits characteristic to gouramis- does this mean I haven't got two gouramis?

Gouramis do vary a lot in clour, and fish can also go very pale if they're stressed, which yours might be if it's very new to the tank. The long ventral fins a very prone to being bitten off if they're kept in a tank with aggressive fish, so that might be what's happened to yours.

If they are otherwise the same, then they probably are both gouramis, but it's hard to be caertain without seeing it.

Could you post a pic? You'll need to upload it to a hosting site, like Flickr or Photobucket and copy the IMG code here :good:

Oh, and :hi: to the forum :)

It does look like a gourami, but the pic is too small to really tell, sorry!

Hmmm it appears to be a golden ram not a gourami! Back to p@h with it I think!
