First off, I know his tank is too small, bought it seccond hand with the fish.

Im trying to move my betta into it, and need to make a divider in my 15g tank. Im doing the DIY version, with a 12 by 12 inch peice of craft canvas, but Im wondering how to make it strong enough without aquarium sealant. I plan on using gravel around it, with rocks over the gravel on the red devil's side, as I know they like to dig.

The red devil will get majority of the tank space, about 10g. He is 2 1/2 inches long.

Do you think my pan is okay? I only have 2 large acessories, one tropical and colorful, one very natural. Should I use those on the red devils side as well? Then maybe he wont see the betta as much?

You could always use something opaque, so that they don't see each other at all?

Just re-home the red devil, personally I think your asking for trouble trying to keep one in the same tank with a betta.
