Its planted and only lightly stocked 8 male guppies 3 albino Cory's and 1 dwarf gourami I have been battling hair algae for a couple of weeks now slowly getting on top of it but in the last couple of days i have got a red algae ? Its spreading quick. I've tried google cant get anywhere with it probably me not searching the right thing as it always says salt water tanks for red algae. I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what it is and if I should be concerned the fish seem happy enough and I see them pecking away at it if it's not a problem i will leave it as it is mainly on the filter and makes it stand out less lol.

Does it wipe off easily and come off in sheets or large pieces?
Does it smell musty?
If yes, then it is blue green algae (Cyanobacter bacteria).

It's not hard to remove but it doesn't wipe off easy a little scrub with a toothbrush gets it off but it comes off like powder not in sheets
