Hi I've got a rainbow fish had him for about 2 months now I've just noticed he's got a lump on his side

Most spots like that are bacterial in origin, IMO. Myxazin would be my recommendation, if you can get that where you are.

I would also like to point out that you do seem to have a fair amount of algae and detritus in your tank; how big is it, how often and how large are your water changes. and do you have any test results you could post? Knowing the hardness and pH of your water would help too.

It would be nice, and better for your fish, if we could pin down a reason your fish might have developed this issue, as well as finding a treatment

Hi I do water changes every week. I put plants in after the algae established itself. I'm using co2 now so hopefully it will be gone soon. I don't have any testers sorry
