Hello there... I got an 100L tank.
I got a black veil angelfish, a gold gourami, a black skirt tetra, 2 cory catfish, 1 Synodontis Eupterus catfish(which almost never comes out of its cave at day), 1 female Betta that i got 3 days now, and i recently got one Ancistrus Albino for algae cleaning.
I'd like to ask if the tank is full or if i could put a sailfin molly in the tank and maybe 1-2 ottos if the albino wont make it up with cleaning...
Also i'd like to know if i should give the Tetra away cause the gourami is giving it little bit of a chase occassionally cause i dont like it getting stressed or will it be fine? And what about the betta its hiding on corners sometimes.

a single tetra wont be a happy fish it may be best to get a few more of his kind or rehome him, also corys are also much more happier in groups of 5+ so again i would up the number to this and try and get all the same species for best results. how tall is the tank as angelfish need alot of room in height as they grow very tall and may well feel trapped in a tank anything less than 16/17 inches tall. dont know anything about the syno catfish but make sure its adult size isnt too big as 100L may be too small.
before adding more fish i would advise to up the numbers and make sure the current fish will be small enough to stay in the tank. a happy tank is what we all search for after all.......

Well if i actually get 5 cories and they are of the same species wont they lay all the time? I dont got a 2nd tank or whatever to do with them... First lay i could give them away to friends but i cant do that all the time..
And about the tetra.. will it be happy with any kind of tetra or only with other black skirt? And same thing... Wont they lay babies again?

corys lay eggs that is a comunity tank do well to survive as the fish will eat them once they are discovered even the corys may eat them as they have no care for the eggs or fry what so ever, so the chances of getting loads of corys swimming about in your tank are very very slim. even if they do spawn and the eggs hatch, the fry will struggle to survive as they need much cleaner water and the free space to eat without competition from other fish, they may also get eaten. so i wouldnt worry too much about that.....

tetras like to be in groups of their own kind too for a security reason so they dont feel too threatened as they would on their own. these fish too are egg layers so the same will apply here, they will be eaten or if they hatch more than likely eaten unless the tank is very heavily planted and they can hide easily but they still have to come out for food at some point.....

as a rule fish will only spawn in ideal conditions and when they are happy and feel secure so this is why people/breeders set up tanks just containing 1 species of fish . the only fish that you may get over run with may be livebearers like platys, endlers, mollys etc etc and again the fry will have to survive the hungry mouths of other fish even the parents. community tanks are not generally over run with baby fish, dont worry.

how tall is the tank?, as you have an angel and these need taller tanks due to the shape of the fish and they grow very large and need space otherwise they will become stunted like any fish thats in an aquarium thats not suitable....

also if you have algae problems then its best to find the source and fix it rather than buy in fish to try and solve it as this just doesnt happen with 1 or 2 fish and if algae eaters like otos run out of algae they may starve.

Thanks for answers man. I'll get one female Tetra to make him company, i'll also get 3 more of each cory so that there will be 2 groups of 4 since i wont have problems with them mating as you said :) I'll give the female betta to a friend which has a male and i'll give the Syno catfish to a friend also. And i think i'll get a sailfind molly but im not sure if its compatible with the gold gourami, do you know if she is?

i think they should be fine but having never kept either im not 100%. ive kept dwarf gouramis in the past and these can be quite aggressive especially towards fish with fancy fins. i had 1 that bullied an angel that was 4 times his size believe it or not......

i would get at least another 4/5 tetras as yhey really do prefer to be in groups not singular or pairs. it will also look better in your tank when they all swim together. the problem with 1 is that it will be lonely and feel unsecure and the problem with 2 is that one will become dominant and may harrass the other sometimes to stress levels that can kill the fish or bring on disease. this is why larger groups are better as the harrassing isnt just on a single fish its spread throughout the group giving the others a break now and then. also they as a group will feel much more secure and you will see more of them in the tank being more natural :good:

hmmm one last question.. If i mix Peppered, Bronze and Panda cories will they be good? Im thinking of smthing like 2-3 of each of the 3 species... Or will it be better to get 4-5 of 2 species?

Mixing cories in small numbers is not such a great idea. They will get along with each other just fine but the reason people suggest large groups is that the fish are much more active and even entertaining if they are in a large group of their own species. Peppers, C paleatus, bronzes, C aeneus and Pandas, C panda are three different species, they are not just color variations. Each will only truly interact properly with its own species. You lose the benefit of the larger group if they are all different species.

just to add to what oldman has said, panda corys are quite a bit smaller at adult size and with bigger fish may get a bit left out or even feel slightly intimidated.
1 group of the same fish beats a mixture of species in my eyes, it looks more natural and they will interact much much more with each other
