Hi
I want to set up my 10G with a couple of dwarf puffers...I don't know what else to put in with them, as I know they're aggressive...I've read your posts about not putting an aggressive fish with them- would a tiger barb be considered an aggressive fish? I know they can be- I've seen them in action...If I can't put them in with the puffers, what would you all suggest?
TIA

There's a thread in this section called Puffer Species that is excellant. Dwarf puffers can be fairly aggressive so there isn't many fish you can put in with them, there may be some ground feeders like ottos although in 10g you probably won't have the room (ottos tend to need at least 3 in a group. I'm going to try keeping an ancistrus with mine when I get them as they can be kept alone and keep to themselves and tend to blend in really well.

The other option is instead of the dwarf puffers try the Colomesus (South American Puffers) they're meant to be the most placid puffers (placid as puffers go :p ) so you may be able to get away with other tank mates.

Tiger Barbs would almost certainly be out of the question, they'd start having a go at the puffers and probably wouldn't survive the day, also you need a group of Barbs of at least 5-6 and with 2 puffers you would probably overload the tank (puffers are messy eaters).

Definately read the Puffer Species thread, puffer pack has answered so many questions, a lot of good info on there.
