Now that I'm getting close to being able to introduce fish to my main tank, my thoughts have come to the subject of a quarantine tank...

Given that I may include Katubu Rainbows and Green-Barred Danios in my stock, which can both reach upto 12cm, how big a tank would you recommend?

The Q tank should be big enough for the size fish you are buying and bringing home. If you buy those 12 cm fish at only 3 cm, just have a Q tank big enough for them at 3 cm.A Q tank is a temporary home that must be large enough for the size the fish will be while they are in it. If you later want to use it as a hospital tank, you will need a container big enough to hold the larger fish for a while. For that, I would be using a storage tub that is put up until it is needed. I have yet to need a hospital tank in the 7 or so years since I got back into the hobby.
