I don't want to waste the water that I take out of the tank so I use it for my plants. Has anyone seen any ill effects? So far my plants seem fine. Thanks.

I've used it before with no problems, but prefer the drain since it's closer. I just wouldn't use it if you add salt to your tank. If anything, its good for your plants because of the nitrate in it.

Last year I grew all my letuice, potatoes, etc etc on Tank water substituted with tapwater if I didnt have enough tankwater coming out to supply the plants.

Any nasties in the water will decompose in the soil and will only be taken up by the plant roots once they are in a suitable form for the plant to absorb - so there is nothing in the tank water that could get into the crops and do you harm.

Simply dont use medicated water, or salty water (as already described).

If you have added plant food to the aquarium water then dont dose too high with tomato feed etc as you may overdo the goodness.
