Pump Problem!help

hi im new to tropical fish just got a new tank put the water in filled it up and it was nice and clean but after a day the water has gone murkey the pump i have is a tetra one supposed to be quite good is it somethingi have dun? is it supposed to do this? i have put some water/clorine stuff in and some tetra stuff called easy balance any one know what im doing wrong? please help!

Hi, when you say murky is it like milky? A sort of suspended microscopic white particles?

well the whole weter in merkey but if i put my hand it it has bits in it its only been a day obviosly have no fish yet

Ok, so I am guessing the substrate was not wash enough or you have a bacterial bloom.

Either way it should clear in time....(it may take upto a week)

even if the water was clean when i was puting the water in? ad then went merkey?

im guessing you didnt wash the gravel first.

i did wash the gravel though with a powerfull shower! im gust gunna leave it and couple of days would it help if i cleardred the water and started again?
