I think this is going to the extreme and I am sorry to those who do not find this funny. Here is the question:

my green spotted puffer refuses to eat snails, so the only way to keep his beak trimmed is freeze dried krill pieces, but my husband thinks they are gettin a little too long, they arnt bad at all, yet. does anyone know how to safely trim their beak? my husband wants to do it by sedating him with clove oil but he doesnt know what he is doing (just read about it online) and i would rather have someone who KNOWS how to do it, i love my puffer and would be very upset if anything happened to him. he is still pretty small, about 2 inches long. thanks!

Is this question legit or am I rightfully laughing at this person for actually thinking about trimming a fishes' tooth?

Some puffers do need to have their beaks trimmed unfortunately but I can understand why one finds it strange having dentistry performed on a fish

There's a great thread somewhere showing how to trim a puffer's beak. You anaesthetise them with clove oil and then clip back the overgrowth. It's not uncommon for South American Puffer owners to have to do this once a year.

Yep I have two GSP's, and if they dont wear their beaks down on snails etc you have to trim their teeth. And no, not many of my friends thought I was being serious either...
