My Molly is acting very weird.

I was sold 2 (the guy said they were both female), Molly 1 seems fine but Molly 2 (in my opinion) is starting to look a bit fat?

There is also the fact that when they were both put in the tank last week they were inseperable and eat like they had never been fed. A day or so ago they stopped hanging about together and the "fat one" doesnt seem to be eating anymore - she also spends a fair amount of time sitting on the bottom of the tank. When she feels like it she swims around normally but this behaviour has me worried.

Pregnant? Sick? Normal behaviour for this type of fish?

Is she just growing as fish do or is she somehow pregnant?

Sitting on the bottom of the tank is not good, what do you feed the fish, sounds like a bacteria infection or constipation, as to many dried foods can lead to bacterial infection, try some shelled peas i no she's not eating, but she might eat them.

Weird you say that because when she first went into the tank she was a bit of a "poo-machine" if you get my meaning!

I just feed them standard tropical flake food but they both seemed to take a liking for the sides of the tank and heater (constantly looking like they were eating whatever was on it?)

As I speak they are now back together swimming round normally like nothing is wrong.

Am i am being over protetive? Deffo not pregnant?

No, best to get to no your fish, then you no when they are off colour, try some shelled peas as they need them in there diet twice a week, boil the peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers, and add to the tank, also you will need to introduce a few frozen foods in there diet like bloodworms, brimestrimp, and daphnia which is very good at digesting the fish food, as you have to keep them going to the toilet so they don't get constipated, also you can feed, savoy cabbage, broc, anything green really.

Is the molly in the picture the one you are talking about? Surely that fish has a gonopodium (pointed anal fin), or are my eyes totally failing me? In which case it is a he, and I would not get my hopes up about any babies from that quarter. Better start boiling those peas instead.
Also quite a nice sail on his back (though clamped in the first picture which may indicate unhappiness), that is designed to impress females.
The picture is to blurred to see if his scales are standing out=dropsy (bad sign). Try the peas anyway.
