I have a molly, that we noticed has gotten bigger over the days and wondering if sheā€™s pregnant. The pictures donā€™t show just how big she is in real life. However the problem is- there is no other molly in the tank.... hasnā€™t been for months. Only have goldfish and tetras in there.

She is pregnant. Mollies can store sperm packets for almost a year and become pregnant months after being separated from a male. They can have multiple pregnancies from one mating

Would you suggest putting her in a breeding box thatā€™s in the tank until she has them or keep her how she is? I noticed the goldfish are starting to nip at her which they never did before

Breeding boxes stress the fish and can kill her or make her abort her fry. Leaver her in the tank or move her to a separate tank.

While we are on this subject goldfish and mollies are not really compatible to be housed together

We read that they werenā€™t however they are small at the moment and is temporary. When should we be expecting babies

She is looking boxy so within a week or two. When the fry are born you can scoop them out with a paper cup and move them into a fry net or a second tank for the first few weeks. Dont use a net as this can damage their spine.

Feed the fry 3 to 5 times daily with finely crushed flake food and do daily water changes while they are growing.

Dont net the mother when she is this close to birthing, if you must move her use a cup.

Add lots of plants, especially floating plants for the fry to hide in. Dont be surprised if the goldfish eat all the fry before you can move them
