Hi I have 3 guppies (2 female, one male) 2 platys (1 female, 1 male) and a fry platy- we got it from the pet store a few months ago.

Well both of my girl guppies look pregnant, I think the lighter colored one gave birth and we missed it because her gravel spot disappeared and she got smaller - now getting bigger. But the darker guppy has been huge forever it feel like and hasn’t given birth. I put her in a breeder box for a day but she seemed nervous so i let her out. We have plenty of hiding spots (live plants & decorations my kids picked out) and she’s hiding a lot.

My female platy I’ve had for about 3/4 weeks possibly and just keeps getting bigger.

Should I put the 2 bigger ones in the box together? How do I know when they are ready? I’m completely new to this

I dont reccomend putting them in a breeder box, but once the fish seems safe and comfortable she will give birth. The fry will hide in the plants.

Make sure there are plenty of plants and hiding spots. I had 5 red eye tetras and in 3 months I had 12 fry which grew to a safe size in my 55 gallon tank.

We have 2 statues they can go inside and about 10 live plants. We got our baby platy when she was just a spec and has done really well with the bigger fish in there.

Do you know when they’ll give birth? I feel like it’s been forever

Sorry, I have not had platys for many years but she looks close. Good luck and enjoy your fish.
