All,

I have a Percula 90 and wanted to get as much flow as possible around the live rock. Now I had plenty of powerheads sitting around so decided to use them plus bought a Hydor Koralia 1 to supliment it. Now I have read in a lot of places that it is better to use Stream pumps instead of powerheads for reasons I understand well but is there any feasible way of getting the existing powerheads to not be so harsh? I was thinking in the terms of using 22mm pipes and bends for the output as that grately reduces the jet effect of the powerheads but not sure if this will work well.

To give an idea what I currently have:
1: Hydor Koralia 1 (1500lph Stream)
2: Aquaclear 402 (1200lph)
3: Aquaclear 402
4: Hydor Seltz 30 (1200lph)
5: Fluval 600 lph
6: 800lph pump included in the tank
7: 800lph pump included in the tank
8: 2600lph powerhead included in tank (behind the live rock)
9: 800 lph Helida again behind the Live rock

Since the Live rock is much further away from 6 & 7, would they pose any danger?
I can position 2 & 3 with some pipe work to push their flow from the front of the tank in a subdued manner.

Now if I do need to buy a couple of stream pumps, then would the ones on fleabay work? These are chinese brands but at a fraction of price. Sieos will certainly be better but we have already exhausted the budgets in other things  .

Pic of the tank showing powerheads. Please ignore the dead one on the gravel
