I bought a number of potted plants for my tank. The plants are actually planted in a medium which reminds me of loft insulation. I've found the pots very difficult to push down into the gravel and if they are close to each other as soon as I try to push one down the next door one pops up. Has anyone got any tips on how to address the problem. Should I take the plants out of the pots and push them down in the medium stuff? Thanks

I normally take them out of there potts. And rmove most of the fibre wool from roundthere roots. Carfull not to break too many roos, then plant them into your sbtate

I think there's a planting guide knocking around on here somewhere. But take them out of the pots and remove the loft insulation, trim the roots back (see planting guide or wait for an aquascaping bod to tell you how much), stick in substrate and wait for the roots to have a do.
The loft insulation is Rock wool - Molten stone put through a candy floss machine.

take the roots back as far as poss, as this will encourage new growth. Just give em a good push down into the substrate. Try not to hoover around the plants. They will use all the crud around the bottom.
