Hi, wonder if you can help me? I think my opaline might be poorly but I dont know!
Firstly tank stats
450litres (cant remember gallon equivalent!) set up 2.5 yrs
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 50ppm (comes out of the tap at 30-40)
25 degrees c
25% water change every week
Occupants
1 common plec (about 12/14 inches)
5 polka dot loaches
2 opline gouramis - both female
5 sterbai cories
2 bosemani rainbows - 1 male 1 female
1 red-tailed rainbow
2 blue rainbows
15 harlequin rasboras
15 neon tetras
The neon tetras are the newest addition but they have been in nearly 12 months.
So the gourami spends 90% of her time just sitting on the sand. She is able to swin to get food and can go all the way to the surface it just seems to be a struggle for her. She has not lost colour, infact she is more intense colour than the other one. Doesn't seem to be being harassed b any of the other tank mates. There does seem to be some chasing between the two gouramis but only when the poorly one is off the floor. When she is on the bottom the other one ignores her completely and when she is off the bottom the chasing is only sporadic.
I dont know what to do for her? Leave her and see what happens, move her to a hospital tank?
Any ideas peeps??
ps - as an aside is my tank over/under stocked or ok? If possible I would like to add in a few more cories, rasboras and neons to increase the visual impact of the smaller fishes.
