When I bought my Electric Catfish from the pet store he had been with several other electric cats previously and several plecostamus. I bought a gold spot plecostamus (I think it is.. it's slightly green with yellow spots) and have it in there. It doesn't seem to be bothered by the Electric Catfish much and rarely moves out of its way or seem to care. Are they okay together? My algae was getting crazy in the tank and since they were together when they were wee I figured it would be fine. Or do I need to eventually get rid of the plecostamus when the E-Cat gets bigger (yeah, 3 feet, shock a human with 400v, so I've read!)...

Its generally not advised to keep a E cat with anything, the electric shock this fish can provide when feeding or startled can kill or at the very least cause considerable damage to the internal organs of other fish. i would suggest dealing with the algea problem by cutting the lighting hours down to just a couple of hours a day and investing in a plastic handled algea scraper.
