Ive seen some posts on this, but Im still not convinced its merely stress.

When we introduced this pleco to our tank about 3 weeks ago, we noticed some discoloration immediately, but over time the blotchy skin is getting more and more prominent. Almost looks like large streaks of paleness.

I will attach a photo.

Could it have had a condition like ich, and now its getting worse? Or is this really stress?

..... what do I do, just wait?

Thanks for your feedback !

I'd need to see a pic to be 100% positive, but it sounds like normal plec colouration; it's not necessarily stress; fish use skin colour to communicate their mood too.

It's definitely not related to ich, which shows as small, distinct, slightly raised white spots (hence the common name) that makes the fish look like it had been sprinkled with salt or sugar crystals.

If you could post some details of your set up (tank size, how long running, fitration, tank mates etc) we can rule out any other health issues.
