Hi,

Here's Bob! I couldn't get a picture of it, but he's got a huge fin on his back and he is fab :) I've had him for about 3 weeks. He goes from sulking in the corner for a few days to dancing and singing and generally doing caberet!

However Bob is rather large - 14" maybe? And he does tend to poo quite a lot. Well actually he poos more than quite a lot. He has claimed a corner in the tank and it all collects under him.

If I do a gravel hoover once a week, is this sufficient or are these vast quantities of poo during the week going to cause problems? Nitrates are ok, but I thought I'd double check. I could possibly whip it out with a net and dispose of it every couple of days but to be honest I'd rather avoid doing that if possible...

Cheers,
Matt

If nitrates are 'ok' then the only real downside is the visual aspect.

Don't bother trying to scoop it out with a net it will disintegrate, gravel vac/siphon is the most effective way of removing it.

i had a royal panaque once called Bob.... i bet there are loads of plecs called this for some reason.....
