Hello,
I introduced a female betta fish into my tank today, I already have 2 dwarf gourami (1 male, 1 female) and an albino frog!

I was told when I bought the betta to keep an eye on her which I have been doing and she is very shy and timid, I have noticed the gourami's have been bullying her a bit, she is hiding at the back of the tank, the shop said I'm welcome to take her back in the morning if she is bullied...

my question is will she be ok if I was to remover her from the tank and kept her in a large container overnight? I'm worried about leaving her in the tank overnight as I don't want her to get anymore stressed than she already might be :(

gourami and bettas can't be kept together at all as they will fight. your betta wiil be fine in the container as long as its not cold in the house plus being a laberynth fish is ok without a filter as long as the water is changed regularly :)

The tank she is in at the moment with other fish is 28L, I was told this is fine just to keep an eye due to the gourami tormenting her (which they are :( )

My flat isn't too cold, she will only be in there til the morning then I will take her back to the shop, thank you for your help, last thing I want is for her to get more stressed and unhappy than she already is

I think your tank is too small. :( Maybe if you upgrade to anywhere from a 45- 70 liter tank, they'll be ok and get along. <--- gouramis and bettas don't go well together, especially in a small tank. ;)

I have removed her from the tank and put her in a separate container, will return her in the morning, shame cos she is beautiful

Thank you for your help/advice, it is appreciated :)

I would like to get a few more fish in my tank, what would u recommend? I would like some colourful fish :)

another tank lol - 28l is quite small so adding much more will cause water problems unless you up the filtration. red claw crabs are cool though but make sure tank is escape proof as they are prone to getting out

tried to reply to the private message but said I can't use it??

It was just a friend request :)

I am looking to get a bigger tank once I have more funds, I have a tank the same size as the one I'm using which the frog will be moving into soon as he is growing quicker than I anticipated, greedy thing he is lol

ah ok - will try to add you - strange it wouldnt let me use it tho.
is it an albino frog? they are amazing - friend of mine had one and he was huge lol. I just have the african frogs as they stay nice and small and are in a 25l tank.

Yeah he's an albino frog, he's soo cool, love him! He was 1st thing I chose :) he has got bigger and gonna put him in his own tank soon, wish I'd have know about the dwarf frogs as the don't grow big, ah well

My siamese fighting fish has gone, my next door neighbour has her so I can still see her sad but don't want her stressed
