3 days ago I brought home 2 very lively oranda fish and today one is lying on the bottom (he's upright) but is barely moving?
I've been cycling a new tank and amonia test levels are within normal, but I'm wondering if the water balancer to make my tap water safe has neutralized the amonia but could it possibly be hiding the nitrates..product used is called Aqua Safe water conditioner.
I also tested the ph and that is within normal range.
The only thing I didn't test because I was unable to find is a nitrate test kit anywhere. The pet shop said I don't really need it as long as I'm doing frequent water changes? Temps are within normal range.
Please tell me what I should do now to help my lethargic oranda?
Oh, the first couple of days he was eating up everything, but yesterday I noticed he wasn't as interested in food. Since I've bought them, I've been crushing little flakes and soaking in water for a minute, to prevent swim bladder diseases.
