Please help, our one year old ( not sure how old he was when we got him) betta fish Yugi has some growths that won’t go away and are only getting bigger.

Problem: He has a white growth on his anal fin that started about 3 months ago and has slowly gotten bigger. It was on one side of his anal fin initially and as it’s gotten bigger has gone to the other side. I thought at first it was a abscess from an injury but it has gotten bigger rather than better. Additionally about one month ago he had a raised scale on his head that was black. The scale progressed into a large black growth! This seems to bother him a lot and his body on the side of the growth seems concave and he is struggling to eat/see his food 😭.

Interventions: Two courses of the antibiotic doxycycline and a later course of Lifeguard all in one treatment (active ingredients 1-chloro-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-imidazolidinone). Frequent 25% water tank changes, unless instructed otherwise by antibiotic treatment instruction.

Tank info:
Yugi lives in a 7 gallon heated planted tank with several small snails that took a ride on a store aquatic plant to our tank.
Recent water testing result from freshwater master test kit:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
pH 7.6-7.4
Temp 78 F

We love him very much and don’t want him to suffer. If he can be made better it would be awesome to heal him. We are novice fish owners and so we are reaching out to you all for some guidance.

Hi Jess, poor little chap does look a bit sorry for himself, I'm no expert but if it was me the first thing I would do is give him a salt bath (2 litres of tank water with 1 tsp of aquarium salt) put him in there for 10 minutes. While he is in there do a 75% water change on his tank and treat with antifungal.
It looks like he has damaged himself (like you said) and got an infection. You could also put an Indian almond leaf in his tank as it contains natural antiseptic.
