Platys and Swordtails

Is it possible for a platy and a swordtail to breed? The guy at the the LFS told me so.. sounds a bit *fishy* to me ( haha sorry i couldn't resist)

It is possible for swordtails and platies to breed. I have one male that's a swordtail/platy cross. He looks like a large platy, but is long like a swordtail. My friend (who is a fish breeder) has his sister who looks more like a swordtail with a longer body.

ah good, i wanted to know this too. i thought there might be complications though. my blue micky mouse platy and pineapple swordtail paired up
