Platy And Red Cherry Shrimp?

First time I had shrimp I brought 10 Red Cherry Shrimp... 7 got eat and 3 wouldn't come out from under my drift wood and eventualy died (probably to starvation).

If the numbers of shrimp are low and theres fish in the tank they will always hide away.

I think the key is... if it will fit in the fishies mouth, it will be eat!

I have x8 Adult Female Platys and they don't bother my cherry shrimps, I have about x10 cherries which some are pregnant and there spread all over the tank, on bogwood, up plants, sitting on spray bars, on the gravel etc etc... the plays don't take any notice. I also have Amano Shrimps and they don't seem to bother the cherries. But when I use to keep a gourami he ate cherrys and they use to spend all the time behind the filter hiding, I now won't buy any fish larger than a platy as I love my cherrys to much, there so interesting to watch and a great addition to the tank.
